This piece is inspired by photographer Greg May's photo of the Pier at Huntington Beach at sunset.  The way the sun was soaked into the horizon gave me the impression of a type of mirage so I tried to paint it as such.  The Lifeguard trucks and group just coming off the water look as if they are floating almost.
